Going Green With Bamboo Is A No Brainer!

Other cultures have known about this valuable grass. Yep, I learned that it's not a wood, but grass. So how many generations did it take to learn how to make a raincoat out of tree? I went on a search to find some information about the this fantastic renewable resource. As I was sharing, in foreign countries, the knowledge and the value of all the uses for bamboo is clear. It's America, and other places in the world that is waking up to this fast growing grass.

Bamboo is one of the world's fastest growing plants, able to lock up a large amounts of carbon dioxide which is one of the biggest contributors to global warming. Bamboo will produce a larger bio-mass than any other plant in a shorter amount of time with very little water. A mature grove of bamboo will produce a large amounts of oxygen while providing a screen against wind, noise, and dust. Bamboo is often used for erosion control.

I did not know that. It means that this tree grows fast. And that is a great way for the green revolution we're learning to adopt in our every day lives. Just look at all the uses other cultures have used for this grass. Yes, bamboo is about as eco friendly as it gets.

A Chinese farmer may have lived in a bamboo house, sat in a bamboo chair, and eaten food stored and prepared in bamboo containers. He may have used bamboo mats for flooring, beds, and covers. His sandals would have been made from bamboo and his hat woven from split bamboo.

I read that no other plant has impacted so many cultures in so many ways over such a long period of time. That's quite a claim.

Now we're probably not going to go out an build an a structure like this one. Wow! I'd love to see something like this in person. We're talking thousands of years of construction culture know how. But the uses for Americans for their kitchen and other precious world cultures are endless.

So, it's obvious many cultures have known about the uses of bamboo for many a year. And with the world going nuts about going green, America and other cultures are now getting plugged into all the exciting uses for this fast growing grass!

You're probably not going to need bamboo for like say, making some sort of animal enclosure like other countries. Or go out and chop down a bamboo tree and make some sandals. The toughness of bamboo has a thousand uses.

So the rest of mankind wants to be able to put this grass to use in their lives, right? I personally don't have the skill to make a raincoat that was shown above. Amazing! But Here's a simple use for your kitchen, and it adds beauty to your counter top!
